Fishing isn't allowed at the main beach areas, but there are still some great fishing spots on Anna Maria Island.

Fishing Piers on Anna Maria Island

There are 3 fishing piers on Anna Maria Island. All 3 also include restaurants.

Bradenton Beach City Pier
A free pier built over the northern end of Sarasota Bay. It's just south of Cortez Road, on Bridge Street.

Rod & Reel Pier
This fee pier is built over Tampa Bay at 875 N Shore Dr.

City Pier
The Anna Maria City Pier is a free pier offering access to Tampa Bay at 100 S Bay Blvd.

Shore & Surf Fishing on Anna Maria Island

Fishing is not allowed at the main beach areas. Wherever there are swimming areas (marked by buoys) or no fishing signs, you should not fish. Here are some areas where fishing is allowed from the shore:

South Tip
At the south tip of Anna Maria Island, starting where the no swimming signs are posted (on the gulf side), fishing is allowed. Park in the southern end of the Coquina Beach parking lot or one of the parking areas on the bay side.

Northern Tip
The northern end of the island, north of the swimming areas, allows fishing. Park on the street and use one of the public beach accesses.

Palma Sola Causeway Park
While not technically on Anna Maria Island, this park is just off the island on Manatee Ave. It offers plenty of parking, a boat ramp, amenities, and access to Palma Sola Bay from both sides of the road.

On The Bay
There are multiple access points along the bay that allow fishing - anywhere there are not no fishing signs, you're good.
