Time to relax on the sandy beaches of Fort Myers...

When I go on vacations, I like variety. I like to plan vacations that are so packed full of fun, I hardly know which way is up! Those vacations aren't exactly restful though.

So sometimes, I like to plan a leisurely vacation, with just hours of taking it easy. One of those relaxing places I like to go to is Ft. Myers Beach.

Stepping out of the fast lane and onto a beautiful beach is a wonderful start to a vacation. The biggest decisions when taking a vacation to Ft. Myers Beach are 'where to eat' and 'do I want to walk or read on the beach today?' Of course, other options are available if you want a bit more action, but if you are just looking to relax, pick a nice place to stay at the ocean's edge, and enjoy the scenery!

Fort Myers Beach is great for leisurely walks...

When I choose to walk on the beach, I always enjoy looking for new shells and other flotsam that washes up from the ocean. Fort Myers beach is perfect for this - the fine white sand is wonderful to feel under my feet and the very gentle waves are fun to splash through when I feel like getting my feet wet.

Great seafood, too...

As with most coastal areas Ft. Myers Beach has some good seafood! Of course, if you do not want to eat seafood, there are several grills on the island!

Sarah's Fort Myers Beach "To-Do" List:

  • Take a long walk. Every walk is a new experience! The shells are different every day, and the time of day gives a different look to the surroundings. It is truly a peaceful way to spend some time!
  • Read a good book. When I get done with my walk, I often enjoy grabbing a book and just listening to the waves roll in.
  • Build a sand castle. After I'm done reading, I'll take a seat in the sand with a good bucket and work on a new "masterpiece" sand castle. Ah, fun!

Ft. Myers Beach is high on my list of places to relax in Florida - I always anticipate my next visit! In fact, I'm feeling like I'm ready for a visit in the very near future...
