Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios
I've always enjoyed that feeling, like my stomach is dropping out, that rides with big "scary" drops give. Not surprisingly, I thoroughly enjoy the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The ride is set in the Hollywood Tower Hotel, which has it's own eerie and mysterious story.
Welcome To The Hollywood Tower Hotel...
I remember watching a TV movie about the ride on the Disney Channel many years ago, and thought the ride was neat. As you walk into the line, you start by going up to the Hollywood Tower Hotel, just as if you were going to check in for a weekend stay. When you get to the door, though, you realize that nobody alive has stayed here for a while. You are ushered into a room, where the lights dim and television screens begin to play a clip from the Twilight Zone. After watching the video, you head to the boiler room to take a ride in the service elevator.

Once loaded into your elevator box, you're taken to the elevator shaft (but you'll meet a a couple of surprises on the way). The doors open, giving you a view out over the theme park, and then...you plummet! You'll be dropped and hoisted back up several times. One thing I love about this ride is that it is always unique because it drops a different number of times each ride. You may ride several times, and never get the same experience!
Here's a photo Adam snapped of the ride while standing in line for another of my favorite rides (the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster!):
